This weekend we held our first ever length tournament which saw some great
squash played both in the main competition and in the plate for everyone who lost
in the first round.
Having to hit a length on every shot was an alien concept for some of us, but
everyone enjoyed themselves and it was all played in great spirits - it also
provided an opportunity for some people to try marking a match for the first time.
In the end Mark McGuiness was too strong, with his consistency and ability to
return the tightest of shots with interest, winning the main competition in style
without dropping a game. The plate tournament was won by Mark Ricketts who
seemed to improve with each match he played, striking the ball really cleanly.
