Internal Summer Team Competition is a Huge Success

The Boasters-Summer Team League Winners

This summer brought together 25 members of the club in the very first TSRC Summer Team League event which was held over the summer months.

Five teams took part made up of players of different abilities and all teams played each other twice, with 3 matches taking place on an evening.

The feedback from all the players was amazing and everyone thoroughly enjoyed all their matches, bringing everyone in the teams together to support, encourage and provide advice to their team members. Everyone tried thier hand at referring and scoring which they also enjoyed doing and the whole event was a total success.

The winning team of the Summer Team League was The Boasters, captained by Martin Blakeley and featuring Dave Purdy, Gary Walters and Paul Haith (with Stuart Benton making a guest appearance). They really played well as a team and won 18 matches out of their 24 played, winning an impressive 60 games and finishing with an equally impressive 78 points, 22 points ahead of the rest of the field.

The remaining placements were:

2nd place - The Racqueteers, captained by Paul Hunt along with Rob Marshall, Bruce Dalrymple, Chris Lamming and Henry Downs.

3rd place - The Underdogs, captained by Steve Keep along with Dominic Magnante, Stephen Mussell, Nick Rawlings and Kyle O’Mallane.

4th place - The Titans, captained by Sean Lawes along with Matt Dustin, John Fajardo and David Fieldhouse.

5th place - Andy’s All Sorts captained by Andy Neevealong with Robbie Collier, Crispin Tucker, Vic Suarez and Pete Hodgson.

Well done to everyone who took part and as the event was such a big success we will be looking to hold it again next year.
